What is ADHD?

Many parents want to get to the bottom of the question, “What Is ADHD?” There are many ways to get to the heart of the question. Luckily, there is still room for what it means for your family.

The most common  and most recently recorded way is to use the DSM  or the medical model can be described as the following:

“From a medical perspective, ADHD is described as repetitive patterns of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity that can interfere with daily functioning and development. These symptoms may manifest differently in individuals, with some primarily showing difficulties with attention and focus, while others may struggle more with hyperactive and impulsive behaviors.”

From a Holistic perspective, ADHD can be seen as a positive and unique way of experiencing the world, each positive trait can be met with challenges that accompany it.
